Tania Mesa is a crossover-style violinist and singer from the Canary Islands (Spain) currently based in New York City, with a degree in classical violin performance (ESMUC- Barcelona) and a second degree at Berklee College of Music in contemporary music. She has performed as a singer, violin player as well as acting and dancing at National Theatre of Catalonia and Caixaforum auditoriums in Barcelona and Madrid and more recently in theaters like LA MaMa in NYC in The New York Times featured musical Fandango for Butterflies and Coyotes . She toured for years with well known artists such as Manolo GarcíaJoan Manuel Serrat in Spain and performed with Dream Theater (Boston Opera House) , Alejandro Sanz and SYML (WGBH) in Boston.  

She also has performed and recorded with celebrated flamenco artists such as Josemi Carmona, Amador Rojas, Nino de los Reyes, Mayte Martín, Antonio Serrano and José Mercé on his album Doy la Cara produced by Javier Limón and nominated for a Latin Grammy. She performed in 2016 and 2018 with Grammy winner Jacob Collier at MIT Kresge Auditorium, in 2017 and 2018 with Tigran Hamasyan, in 2015 and 2016 with the Grammy Award-winner jazz trumpet and composer Terence Blanchard.

 She recorded Spanish vocals for the Walt Disney Company film "Fucsia, the Mini Witch." Since 2007, she has been a member of The World Orchestra: Artists for the Peace (UNESCO) with whom she performed and promoted social equality relations worldwide (GermanyChinaMexicoSouth Africa, and throughout Western Europe), in large concert halls (Berlin Philarmonie, Muzikebouwg, Beijing NCPA, … ) as well as less traditional venues in underserved communities. She has been a member of  Berklee Silent Film Orchestra since 2014 touring nation-wide and playing in iconic theaters such as The Castro Theater in SF. She played and sang at Berklee performance Center on Tribute to Paco de Lucía (2014 and 2015) , Harry Belafonte Honorary Doctorate,  Susana Baca  and Pablo Ziegler concerts  and  also co-led “A Roma Berklee Night” featuring Damian Draghici as well as representing the Spanish gypsy music by excellence: Flamenco.
